PRODUCE brings together newly commissioned artworks, exhibitions, performances, lectures and panels as a culmination of SPOT Production Fund’s year of investigation into the local cultural policy sphere. The participants offer cultural propositions given the political, bureaucratic and commercial constraints we live in in the region and beyond. As small initiatives (artistic, institutional and research based) which try to make a dent in the bureaucracies of the everyday, each of the practices presented as part of PRODUCE create its own capsule of engagement by being involved in cultural policy. In an era when political uncertainties run their course, each person sculpting a cultural practice is a political act in and of itself: Afterall, anyone could be a sculptor one day.

The exhibitions comprise of the 7 commissioned artworks of the SPOT Production Fund. The talks and events programme will be presented during and as the official talks programme of ArtInternational Istanbul 2014 and an additional day is scheduled for Monday after the fair closes on September the 29th.
